The Permanent Campus of the Institute is being constructed. Work to build Phase 1 of the campus began in March 2015. When complete, it will be the first fully-planned technical institute campus in India. More importantly, it will be an international exemplar of sustainability with strategies for ensuring NET ZERO ENERGY, WATER and WASTE. The other salient features of the Permanent Campus are: | |
(1) | Walking campus, which is pedestrian oriented and bicycle dominant; |
(2) | Learning facilitated anywhere, anytime with wireless ICT backbone (including Multi-media enabled learning spaces with flexible, shared public spaces); |
(3) | Thermally comfortable smart buildings with GRIHA 4/5 star compliant buildings and GRIHA LD benchmark campus (including dense desert settlement morphology, low height buildings (up to a maximum of 3 storeys) built with low embodied energy materials, and improved local and traditional methods); |
(4) | Plantation with native species, soil stabilization, protection from dusty wind to arrest erosion, desertification, and building-up soil moisture over time; |
(5) | Rain water harvesting, and water reduction and sewage recycling, together greening the site over time; and |
(6) | Segregated wastes and customized recycling |
Every year, the cut-off is decided once the total applications have been processed.

For Indian applicants, admission process follows the two-step process |
(1) Shortlisting, for an online personal interview, based on the percentile of candidates in the Common Admission Test (CAT) conducted by IIMs
(2) Final list for admission based on 80% (CAT Score) + 15 % (Interview) + 5% (work experience)
a. Initial Shortlisting
An initial shortlist shall be done based on the overall percentile in CAT. Shortlisted candidates will be invited for Personal Interview (PI)
b. Interview Process
Personal Interviews (PI) is proposed to be conducted online during March and April 2020. The candidates would be asked to indicate their preferred slot (date & time) for the online interview (through Webex/ Zoom/Skype etc) while filling the application. Each shortlisted candidate would be interviewed by a panel of one or more experts.
Flagship program for regular students, IIT J is going to offer MBA programs with differences. Tech-MBA is highlight of the package. It remains a two-year program, where first-year will be devoted to foundation courses and the full second year will be available to earn specialization into cutting edge areas. The school will offer specializations in two directions—in traditional areas to earn a regular MBA degree, while tech courses to earn Tech-MBA degree.

No, Ragging is strictly prohibited and punishable in institute and strict actions are taken if found so. Yes, IITJ do have strict policies against ragging and we also have an Anti-ragging Squad to prevent any kind of ragging in the institute.
IIT Jodhpur is located on the outskirts of the city of Jodhpur and is well connected to other parts of country by road, rail and air. The Institute is located on National Highway 65 at Karwar Village, about 24 km from the railway station and 25 km from the airport; it takes approximately 45 mins and 40 mins to drive from airport and railway station to the Institute, respectively.
1. It is connected by rail to major cities like Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai, Hyderabad, Kota, Kanpur, Ahmedabad, Indore, Bhopal, Jabalpur, Guwahati, Nagpur, Lucknow and Jaipur.
2. There are daily flights from Delhi and Mumbai to Jodhpur. Air India and Jet Airways operate the daily flight to each of these cities
3. Jodhpur is connected by mega-highway to major neighbouring cities, e.g., Jaipur, Jaisalmer, Udaipur and Ahmedabad. Deluxe and express buses ply to Jodhpur from Delhi, Jaipur, Ahmedabad and Vadodara.

(a). From Airport to Campus
You can take a prepaid auto/taxi to the Institute, which is situated on National Highway 65, Nagaur Road, Karwad. You may ask the driver to go past Mandore on Nagaur Road. This Campus is about 28 km away from the airport
(b). From Railway Station to Campus
At Jodhpur Junction Railway Station, exit from Platform No.1 side. You can take a prepaid auto/taxi to the Permanent Campus of IIT Jodhpur, which is situated on National Highway 65, Nagaur Road, Karwad. You may ask the driver to go past Mandore on Nagaur Road. The campus is about 26 km away from the Station.
