Ajeenkya DY Patil University was founded by former Bihar Governor Dr. DY Patil, a recipient of the Padmashree award under the Government of Maharashtra Act 2015. The University came into existence in 2015. Commonly referred to as ADYPU, the university comprises nine schools offering a variety of undergraduate and postgraduate courses. These schools include Management, Information Technology, Design, Hotel Management, Engineering, Film and Media, Liberal Arts, Law, and Architecture, all recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC).
ADYPU conducts its entrance examination, known as ACET, for admissions to its UG and PG programs. Admissions are based on this test, along with other criteria. The School of Management provides MBA programs with various specializations, with a total course fee of INR 7 Lakh.

Anybody found indulging in ragging will be rusticated from the institute and due legal action will also be taken. ADYPU, Pune is dedicated to creating an Anti-Ragging Committee to address the complaints related to ragging. This helps to make a secure and supportive atmosphere for students.
