The Department of Industrial & Management Engineering is one of the early institutes in India to realize the power of uniting the education of engineering and management.
More commonly known as IME, it is a part of prestigious Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Kanpur. IME was established in 1974 and offers a variety of activities ranging from teaching and consultancy to research, MDPs and public sector projects.
IME offers various undergraduate and postgraduate programs including M.Tech., MBA, along with Doctoral degrees.
Offering a vast green campus spread over 1000 acres, DIME, Kanpur, houses a well-stocked library, open-air theatre, language lab, railway reservation counter, banks, health centre and two computer labs with 390 computers and Internet speed of 2GBPS.

The specializations in:-
Aditya Birla Scholarship for the top 20 students (in terms of their AIR in JEE Advanced). Some of these students are shortlisted for an interview on the basis of their application. This scholarship is then awarded on the basis of the interview.
INSPIRE Scholarship amounting to INR 30000/- per semester (Rs. 60,000 annually), along with a research grant of Rs.20,000. Students of B.S programs within the ALL INDIA RANK (AIR) 10,000 as per Common Merit LIST (CML) in Chemistry, Physics and Mathematics departments are eligible for this scholarship. This is a merit based scholarship; hence, the recipients must maintain a minimum CPI of 6.0.
Basic Mess and Pocket Allowance to SC/ST students with annual parental income less than 4.5 lakhs. Under this scholarship students receive free basic mess bill and a pocket allowance of INR 250/- pm.

'Ragging' means the doing of any act which causes, or is likely to cause any physical, psychological or physiological harm of apprehension or shame or embarrassment to a student, and includes
(a) teasing or abusing of playing Practical joke on, or causing hurt to any student.
(b) asking any student to do any act, or perform any thing, which he/she would not, in the ordinary course, be willing to do or perform.
