The wi-fi enabled campus houses, Academic building, the classrooms, hostels, and the auditorium.The hostel block accommodates the mess, 24×7 cafeteria, Health care center and gym for the fitness freaks which are under construction.
There are three hostel buildings inside the campus of the institute; two for boys and one for girls. The students of IIM Sambalpur are provided rooms on a twin-sharing basis.
The rooms are properly ventilated and well furnished with a bed, almirah, mattress, study-tables and chairs provided to each student.
Housekeeping staff maintains the cleanliness of the rooms on a daily basis.
High-speed Wi-Fi has been made available which is accessible from anywhere within the campus premises.
A student mess is present within the hostel premises. The mess offers a healthy mix of different Indian dishes originating from different parts of India. It serves both vegetarian and non-vegetarian cuisines. The mess affairs are overlooked by a mess committee, which is responsible for maintaining the overall hygiene and quality of food.

Located amidst hills and rivers, the temporary campus of IIM Sambalpur is functioning in a state of The art buildings at the Jyoti Vihar, Burla – the education hub comprising the Sambalpur University, and elite Medical and Engineering University. Specked in the picturesque settings and nestled in Barapahad (Twelve Hills), the temporary campus lies at one end of Hirakud Dam.
Excellent links to reach Sambalpur are available from Bhubaneswar and Raipur via rail, road, and air. With Jharsuguda airport – an hour's drive from the Institute – is operational from 31st March 2019, and with the recently built Biju Expressway, connectivity is as good as it can get. The work culture & environment, facilities along with the state of the art infrastructure makes IIM Sambalpur one of the best and unique places for knowledge, acquisition, dissemination, and entrepreneurial experimentation.
The current campus of this institute is set up at Jyoti Vihar, Burla, Sambalpur, Odisha. But, this institute has already been allotted over 237 acre of land in Basantpur by the Government of Odisha, which will turn out to be its permanent campus. Surrounded by a large number of industries such as MCL, Hindalco, Vedanta, TATA and NTPC, among others, its location provides the students of this institute an opportunity for real-life experiential learning.
In 2018, the Government of India proposed a budget of ₹400 crore (US$56 million) for facilitating the construction of the permanent campus and is expected to be ready by 2022.
A graduation degree meeting the minimum eligibility criteria as set by the Institute can apply to this programme. Based on the CAT scores candidates are shortlisted for Personal Appearance (PA) process, which consists of Written Analysis Test (WAT) and Personal Interview (PI).

They have an Anti - Ragging Committee whose role is to monitor the measures taken by the Institute for prevention of ragging and for looking into the specific instances of ragging and complaints of ragging etc. The Anti-Ragging Squad shall be kept on mobile, alert and active at all times and shall be empowered to inspect places of potential ragging and make surprise raids on all hostels and other hot spots. The Squad shall investigate incidents of ragging.
As per the Supreme Court of India order, anyone indulging in ragging will be punished appropriately. Institute has a 'Zero tolerance policy' in this respect.
